Hilmar
Cheese Company’s comprehensive benefit program is designed to help employees - our
most valuable resource - and their families live and maintain a well-balanced,
healthy lifestyle. Benefits are available to regular full-time employees upon
completion of an introductory period (first of the month following 90 days
of continuous service). In addition, a number of benefits are available to
part-time employees where noted by (*). We offer one simple but generous health
plan, a bundle of medical, dental and vision benefits as described below. Employees
cost-share a portion of the health plan expense through a bi-weekly payroll
deduction. We encourage employees to become wise consumers of their healthcare
to better understand options and choices for themselves and their families.
Just like with dental, visit any eye care professional; there is no network to
choose from. Coverage includes an annual eye exam at no cost, and benefits for
lenses, frames and contacts.
24/7 Medical Advice
Employees
and their families have access to registered nurses and medical physicians
24/7/365 to triage any healthcare need. Through AIMM Nurse-on-Call and TelaDoc,
a medical professional is just a phone call away when primary doctors are not
available, or on the weekends as an alternative to a trip to the ER.
Nutritional/Dietary Program
Employees
who want help reaching their nutritional goals, or those who just want to learn
more about healthy lifestyles, can enroll in one of our nutrition counseling
programs. The first 6-months of the program is paid by the Company.
Life
and Disability Insurances
The Company provides Basic
Life, Accidental Death and Dismemberment, Short Term and Long Term Disability
Insurances to its employees at no cost. Benefits for exempt employees may be
subject to tax as per IRS regulations. Supplemental Life and AD&D insurance
is also available for purchase at group rates for employees, spouse and
children.
401(k) Retirement Savings Program (*)
Employees may enroll and defer pre-tax dollars into the 401k retirement
program at hire. Upon completing one year of service and plan hours
requirements, eligible employees may receive the Company Match (100% per
payroll match up to 3.25%). The match is subject to a 6-year vesting schedule. The
Company may also make an annual discretionary deposit into each eligible
account, as per plan guidelines, which is vested immediately.
Flexible Spending Account Program (FSA)
The FSA provides an opportunity to set-aside pre-tax dollars in an account from
which you are reimbursed for out-of-pocket health care expenses or dependent
child-care and/or elder care expenses each year.
Paid Time Off
Vacation
Regular full-time hourly employees accrue
vacation from 1 to 5-days after 1-year, up to 10-days after 2-years, up to
15-days after 5-years, and up to 20-days after 12-years of service. New hourly
employees are provided a 3-day benefit in the first year of employment. Vacation
hours are accrued per payroll, based on hours worked, excluding sick or unpaid
leave hours. Salaried employee vacation accrual schedules may differ slightly
in the first 2-years of employment. Vacation accruals are prorated in the first
year of employment.
Sick Leave
Sick leave is accrued per payroll, based
on hours worked, to a maximum of 3-days per year (24-hours). A maximum bank of
25-days of sick leave can be maintained. Sick leave accrual is prorated in the
first year of employment.
Holidays
Employees receive 6-company paid holidays
each year as well as 4-Floating Holidays. Floating holidays are prorated in the
first year of employment.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP) (*)
ALL employees have access to the EAP. This benefit provides 6-free confidential
in-person counseling sessions, per incident, per year, for the employee and
their family members. Areas of support can include financial, relationship,
substance abuse, parenting, childcare, and many others. In addition, a website
is available with numerous EAP resources and links 24/7/365 at no cost.
Corporate Chaplain (*)ALL employees have access to an on-site Corporate Chaplain for assistance
in a variety of areas, such as emotional support, household budget review,
interpersonal relationship building, grief counseling, etc. Information that is
shared between the employee and the Chaplain is held in the strictest of
confidence. Many times the Chaplain is the first line of support before
accessing the EAP.
Educational Reimbursement Program
Employees can apply for reimbursement of educational costs when successfully
completing courses related to the business or in the course of obtaining a
degree.
